Dr. Blickenstaff has almost 20 years experience related to environmental, occupational, and industrial health and safety, including chemical exposure; premature mortality assessments; indoor air quality (Sick Building Syndrome); mold; disability and worker fitness-for-duty assessments; worker sensitivities; epidemiology; cancer causation; risk assessments; and MSDS’s.

Theron is a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (FACOEM), a member of the Tennessee College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and is Board Certified in General Preventive Medicine and Occupational Medicine.
He has provided support for Workers' Compensation, Social Security Disability, toxic tort, and product and premises liability cases.  His involvement has included review of records, verbal and written reports, affidavits, depositions, and expert testimony. 

Ms. Boeing has nearly 30 years experience involving nursing and 10 years of life care planning experience.  Her experience includes patient care and nursing practices, including medical facility "standard-of-care" procedures; assess individuals with severe, catastrophic disabilities determining needs for care, equipment and services; conduct research trans-disciplinary consultation; produce Life Care Plans: expertise includes spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, birth injuries; chronic diseases; dysrhythmia monitoring; organ transplantation needs, amputation/prosthetic needs, and high-tech home and facility care issues; case management services to implement Life Care Plans; total patient care in critical care units, including medical, surgical, cardiac and telemetry.

Marianne is a Certified Life Care Planner and is an Advanced Cardiac Life Support.  She is a member of the International Academy of Life Care Planners; the American Association of Critical Care Nurses; and the Northeast Ohio Case Management Network.

Donato J. Borillo, MD, J.D.
Medical and Human Factors Expert

Mr. Borillo has more than 15 years experience as a medical doctor and has held a Doctor of Jurisprudence for more than 10 years.  His experience includes aerospace medicine, including human factors, medical certification, sudden incapacitation, time of useful consciousness, aviation accident investigation; occupational medicine, including IMEs, Med Review Officer drug screen questions; hyperbaric medicine, including carbon monoxide exposure and treatment and dive accidents; wound care, including decub wound prevention/healing, chronic wound care, diabetic wound care; and FAA training and evaluations.

Donato received much of his training in the US Air Force, where he was awarded the Julian E. Ward Memorial Award by the USAF Society of Flight Surgeons.  He is an Associate Fellow in the Aerospace Medical Association; a member of the Undersea Hyberbaric Medical Society, the American College of Occupational and Environ Medicine; the Airplane Owners and Pilot Association, the Ohio State Bar, and the Toledo Bar Association.

Mr Burnstein has nearly 20 years experience in psychiatry.  His experience includes forensic psychiatry; child and adolescent psychiatry; competency determinations; insanity evaluations; commitment to hospitalization; danger and suicide assessments; independent psychiatric evaluations; medical malpractice; mental health law; sexual harassment; correctional facility and prison mental health; restraint and seclusion of patients; school mental health, special education; mental retardation, autism, asbergers syndrome; family violence; post-traumatic stress disorder; disability evaluations/ workers compensation.

Michael is a Certified Forensic Examiner and a Consulting Forensic Examiner for the Michigan Department of Community Health.  He holds a Certification in Child Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; a Certification in Adult Psychiatry, The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; a Certification in Psychiatry, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; a Licentiate of the Medical College of Canada; and a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners (Canada).  He is a member of the Michigan Council of Child Psychiatry; the Michigan Psychiatric Society; the American Psychiatric Association; and the American Society of Psychoanalytic Physicians; the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Examiner in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Examiner in Adult Psychiatry; and the American Psychiatric Association Committee on Psychiatry and Mental Health in the Schools.

Mr. Cyphers has nearly 30 years in rehabilitative services.  His experience includes Life Care Planning; evaluation of economic loss; lost income; loss of earning; worklife expectancy; vocational testing, rehabilitation evaluation; work capacity evaluations including physical testing;  transferable skills analysis; ergonomic modification; clinical guidance, training, case consultation; review and interpret medical and psychological data; develop and implement rehabilitation plans; managing difficult workers; counseling ethics; childhood development disorders. 

George is a member of the National Rehabilitation Association; National Rehabilitation Counselor Association; American Rehabilitation Counseling Association; and the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals.  He holds numerous certifications including Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification: Certified Rehabilitation Counselor; the Commission of Certification of Disability Management Specialist: Certified Disability Management Specialist; and the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board: Licensed Professional Counselor.

Mrs. Ferrara has nearly 20 years experience in biomedical engineering, including several years in the Department of Neurosurgery with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.  Her expertise includes musculoskeletal injuries, brain injuries, soft tissue injuries, trauma induced injuries, spinal disorders and the biomechanics of spinal trauma.  Biomechanical behavior of the brain, head injuries, defective helmets and associated brain injuries, spinal injuries, etiologies that affect the central nervous system, sensory loss, child abuse, shaken baby syndrome, and the effects of substance abuse on the brain.

Lisa is a member of the American Society for Testing Materials; the North American Spine Society; the International Biomechanics Society; and the Biomedical Engineering Society.  She has nearly 20 years' experience in presenting lectures or articles regarding Biomedical Engineering, especially spinal issues.  Lisa has authored more than 60 book chapters.

Dr. Halbertstadt's experience includes child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry; competency determinations; marriage and family counseling; sexual exhibition, rape, and trauma; police harassment; employer harassment; bank robbery; depression, anxiety, and behavioral problems; homicide; posttraumatic stress disorder; emotional impairment; closed head injuries; arson; embezzlement; factitious disorder; spousal abuse; custody issues; stalking; command hallucinations; addictions; kleptomania; gambling and substance abuse; insanity pleas; and hypnosis.

Harvey is certified by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, the American College of Forensic Medicine, the National Board of Medical Examiners, the Michigan Board of Marriage and Family Therapy, and is a Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners.  He is a member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law, the American Association of Quality Assurance and Peer Review Physicians, the American Psychiatric Association, the Michigan Psychiatry Society, the Michigan State Medical Society, and the Oakland County Medical Society.

Harvey is an Editorial Board Member of the publication for Oakland County Medical Society Members, and is the Managing Editor of the Newsletter for Chairing Committee for The Michigan Psychiatric Society.  He also sits on the Oakland County Medical Legal Committee; is a Psychiatric Consultant to several schools and a residential home for disturbed children; is a psychiatric member of a group practice of oncologists; and is a past Secretary and Board Member of Royal Oak Physician Group of William Beaumont Hospital.  Harvey has been elected to the legislative Assembly of Michigan State Medical Society; and is a Member of the Michigan Peer Review Organization and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Southeast Michigan.

Norman S. Miller, MD, JD, PLLC
Medical Expert

Dr. Miller has more than 25 years experience in the medical field, including psychiatry; addictions; medical malpractice; product liability; medications; neurology; criminal responsibility; independent medical evaluations; detoxification; and alcohol and drug addition, abuse and treatment.

Norm has been named as one of America's Top Doctors by The Best in American Medicine numerous times.  He has completed residencies in psychiatry, neurology, pathology, and internal medicine, as well as a fellowship in clinical pharmacology and has received his Jurist Doctorate.  He is licensed to practice both law and medicine in Michigan and has been certified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Forensic Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, Psychiatry, and Neurology.

He is a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the Michigan State University Department of Psychiatry Medical Education Committee and is a past member of the International Society for Biomedical Research on Alcoholism, the Assoc. for Medical Education and Research in Substance Abuse, the American Academy of Clinical Psychiatrists, and the American Psychiatric Association.  Norm currently sits on the admissions interview board for the College of Human Medicine, the Promotion and Tenure Committee, the Curriculum Development Group, and the Faculty Search Committee for Michigan State University.

Susan K. Murry, MSN, CRPN
Nursing Expert

Ms. Murry has more than 25 years experience as a nurse, including more than 10 as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  Her experience includes patient care; nursing practices; medical facility "standard-of-care" procedures; OSHA compliance; school health; family care including pediatrics, gynecology and gerontology; occupational injury assessment and treatment; child abuse and neglect screening; communicable diseases including STD's; community health education; pharmacology; and pathophysiology.

Sue is an Advanced Practice Nurse with Prescriptive Authority (Ohio registration), a Certified Nurse Practitioner, and a Nursing Doctorate Candidate.  She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau; the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses; the Medical College of Ohio Alumni Association; and The Ohio State University Alumni Association.

Dr. Priddy has more than 35 years experience involving the analysis, design, manufacturing, and testing of organic materials and products, notably plastics.  Duane has served as an expert for litigation involving product defects, premises damage, and personal injuries. His area of expertise also includes medical implants (e.g. hip/ knee/ shoulder/ elbow).

Duane is a member of ACS (American Chemical Society) and has 65 U.S. patents.  He has authored more than 100 publications, including 5 encyclopedia articles and 8 book chapters, and has written more than 200 Dow Plastics Internal Research Reports.  He has also written and published a book entitled "Modern Styrenic Polymers" (Wiley, 2003).

Donald E. Sanders, DVM, Dip ACT, PAS
Veterinarian Expert

Dr. Sanders has more than 25 years experience as a veterinarian.  His expertise includes animal reproduction; animal welfare; animal biotechnology; animal embryo transfer; livestock water supply; bovine mastitis; animal production; milk production; artificial insemination; farm management; animal parasitism; euthanasia; malpractice; animal environment; dairy management; animal nutrition; animal diseases; stray voltage; and toxicology. 

Henry A. Spiller, M.S., D.ABAT, D.ABFE
Toxicologist

Mr. Spiller has more than 20 years experience in toxicology and research, including coordination of international projects with the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization on pesticide safety, among others. He has more than a decade of experience in training toxicologists and specialists in Poison Information as well as writing for the national certification exam for Specialists in Poison Information.  

Henry has been published in more than 200 publications on toxicology related subjects, including peer review medical/scientific journals, comprehensive toxicology textbooks and abstracts from scientific meetings. He has directed, as principal investigator, more than 35 multi-center national studies in toxicology. He has been recognized by Courts in; Malpractice, Toxic Tort claims, Cause of Death, Workers compensation, DUI, including interpreting drug and/or toxicology screen, blood alcohol results, Dram shop cases, post-mortem drug and or toxicology results. Henry has experience in more than 40,000 clinical cases and hundreds of post-mortem evaluations. 

He is a Registered Professional Nurse in NJ and KY; is Director, AAPCC Certified Regional Poison Center; is a Diplomate, American Board of Applied Toxicology and a Diplomate, American Board of Forensic Examiners; is a Fellow, American College of Forensic Examiners; a Member, Society of Forensic Toxicologists; and is on the Board of Directors, American Board of Applied Toxicology.  Henry is a member of American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC); American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (AACT); American Board of Applied Toxicology  (ABAT); Society of Forensic Toxicologists (SOFT); and a Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners.

Harold Lynn Stringer, BSME

Mr. Stringer has more than 25 years experience in vehicle engineering, including motor vehicle design, manufacturing, testing, and servicing including: passenger cars, trucks, buses, trailers, and private/commercial vehicle carriers; engines; fuel systems; electrical systems; lubrication systems; cooling systems; exhaust systems; drive trains; brakes; suspension; steering; wheels/tires; rear drive axles; A/C systems; vehicle crash safety structures; and laboratory testing procedures. 

Scott M. Yano, PE
Electrical and Medical Equipment Expert

Mr. Yano has experience in designing, developing, and operating advanced diagnostic medical equipment.   His work has included developing medical equipment requirements and specifications and demonstrating equipment performance.

Scott’s experience includes the design, installation, and operation of power supplies; electronic wiring schematics; and instrumentation and control equipment.  He performs software programming; evaluates wireless (RF) and sound controlled equipment performance; and is involved in determining the effects of electromagnetic fields on equipment and personnel.   

Scott is a member of IEEE (Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers), Antennas and Propagation, Vehicular Technology, and Communication Societies.

Lance R. Youles, LNHA
Nursing Home and Long Term Care Expert

Mr. Youles has practiced, managed, or consulted in long term care since 1978, and has served as an expert witness and legal resource since 1993, providing both plaintiff and defense deposition and courtroom testimony.

His experience includes long-term standards of care; abuse/neglect; state and federal regulation compliance; standards of practice for Nursing Home and Assisted Living Administrators; facility staffing levels; facility policies and procedures; compliance and/or effectiveness of employee orientation, training, and in-service education; ownership and corporate responsibility for institutional care and services; fiscal issues; resource allocation; safety and effectiveness of medical equipment and supplies, alarm systems/devices, fire safety, and building components; resident rights; day-to-day facility operations; and facilities for the mentally challenged, disabled, and foster care. 

Lance's long term care background ranges from high school experiences as a nurse's aide, to post-college roles as a licensed administrator, multi-facility manager, consultant, staff educator, and facility owner. His responsibilities have included receivership, administration, management, and monitoring appointments for the State of Michigan. He also served as a nursing home expert for the State of Indiana, Office of the Attorney General, to evaluate the competency of nursing home administrators under review for receiving substandard quality of care violations. He has extensive facility administrative and operations experience, including senior management positions with long term care organizations that owned and operated nursing and assisted living facilities. 

He is a member of the American Health Care Association, the Health Care Association of Michigan, the Michigan Center for Assisted Living, the American College of Health Care Administrators, the National Fire Protection Association, and is a Certified Eden Alternative Associate.
